The first book I read on Martial Arts philosophy was ZEN IN THE MARTIAL ARTS by Joe Hyams. I have read or own nearly EVERY book on Bruce Lee since 1977, trained with many of his students (concepts and core), and have been a recognized Jeet Kune Do instructor since 2000. There has been little offer for martial arts mindset while most books are regurgitated material poorly opinionated.Until this...Shannon uses her personality and perspective with much care while conveying her father's philosophy and has taken the Bruce Lee brand in a direction that has been much needed. Her writing has actually cleared up many questions I have had over other author's and instructor's interpretations. I FINALLY understand a deeper meaning of finding the "cause of your ignorance" which today would be called "blind spots".Ever since MMA has entered the scene martial arts have become thuggish with a lack of philosophy.
